The suspects, aged between 23 and 35, were detained in the areas surrounding Pangkalan Bau Village and Serkin Bau Village.

The arrests were made by members of the Narcotics Crime Investigation Division, supported by personnel from the Bau District Police Office.

Preliminary urine screening tests conducted on the suspects returned positive results for drug use. All four individuals were subsequently taken into custody under provisions of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

District Police Chief PISUPT Mohd Haide bin A. Rahman stated that the operation was part of ongoing efforts to combat drug abuse in Bau.

He emphasised that the police remain firm in their stance against narcotics-related offences, reiterating that decisive action will be taken against anyone found to be involved in such activities.

The operation reflects the police’s broader strategy of maintaining public safety and order through targeted enforcement.

By focusing on areas identified as vulnerable, authorities aim to disrupt illegal activities and reassure the community of their continued vigilance.

Residents have been urged to play an active role in supporting crime prevention efforts. The police encouraged members of the public to share information related to drug abuse or trafficking through official hotlines.

Reports can be made to the Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (JSJN) hotline at 012-2087222 or the Sarawak IPK JSJN hotline at 017-5929211.

Authorities stressed that community cooperation is vital in tackling drug-related issues, as public awareness and timely reporting can significantly assist enforcement agencies in their work.

The Bau District Police reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding the district under the principle that public safety is a shared responsibility.
