MUKAH – The Mukah District Operations Control Centre (PKOD Mukah) responded to an emergency call on Monday involving a snake sighting near a residential property.
The incident was categorised as a snake catching case (KMU) after a one-metre-long ringed snake was spotted in a tree close to the house.
Upon receiving the report, the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM Mukah) deployed a team to the location.
Using pinning techniques and specialised equipment, the officers managed to capture the snake safely. The operation was carried out with precision to ensure that no harm came to residents or the responding personnel.
Authorities confirmed that the situation was quickly brought under control, with no untoward incidents reported.
The captured snake was secured and removed from the area, ensuring the safety of the household and surrounding community.
APM Mukah expressed gratitude to the public for promptly reporting the case, emphasising that community cooperation is vital in managing wildlife-related emergencies.
The department reminded residents that snakes and other wild animals can pose risks if encountered near homes, and professional assistance should always be sought.
