LUNDU – The Lundu District Civil Defence Force (APM Lundu) responded to an unusual emergency on 20 May 2026 when a stray cat was found trapped inside the engine compartment of a car in Kampung Titiakar.
The District Operation Control Centre (PKOD) received the emergency call at 8.01 am from a member of the public who discovered the animal lodged within the vehicle.
Concerned for the cat’s safety and potential damage to the car, the complainant immediately contacted APM Lundu for assistance.
Personnel from APM Lundu were dispatched to the scene and successfully removed the cat from the engine bay.
The incident was categorised as a Wild Animal Capture (MHL) case, reflecting the unit’s broad responsibilities in handling both wildlife and domestic animal emergencies.
APM Lundu highlighted its commitment to the motto “Ready, Fast & Integrity”, underscoring the importance of swift action in safeguarding both community members and animals.
The unit regularly responds to diverse emergencies, ranging from natural disasters to animal rescues, ensuring that residents receive timely support.
