KUCHING – The Sarawak State Mosque Welfare Trust Board (LAKMNS) paid a courtesy visit to JAKIM Sarawak on 21 May 2026, reinforcing strategic relations and exploring avenues for deeper cooperation in religious and community development.
The delegation, led by LAKMNS Chief Executive Officer YBhg. Datu Haji Abdul Hadi bin Datuk Haji Abdul Kadir, was welcomed by JAKIM Sarawak Director YBrs. Ustaz Hamdan bin Jar’ee and senior officers.
The meeting provided a platform to discuss collaborative initiatives aimed at strengthening Islamic teachings and enhancing the well-being of the Muslim community in Sarawak.
Among the key topics addressed was joint cooperation in organising the upcoming Maal Hijrah Festival 1448H/2026M. Both parties expressed commitment to ensuring the event reflects the values of unity, faith, and community empowerment while promoting greater awareness of Islamic heritage.
The LAKMNS delegation included senior officers such as Encik Abang Bikusary bin Haji Kadir, Chief Officer of the Mosque Management Department; Puan Afnalizan binti Ali, Acting Chief Officer of the Management and Services Department; Encik Mohamad Hanif bin Abdullah, Multimedia Officer; and Ustaz Mohd Hafiz bin Sapiee, Islamic Affairs Officer.
Their participation highlighted the organisation’s multi-departmental approach to fostering collaboration.
Representatives from JAKIM Sarawak emphasised the importance of partnerships with institutions like LAKMNS in advancing religious education and community welfare.
The courtesy visit was seen as a step towards building stronger institutional ties that can support programmes benefiting the wider Muslim community.
