Two Men Detained in Bau for Suspected Drug Abuse

BAU – The Bau District Police Headquarters has confirmed the arrest of two men suspected of involvement in drug abuse during separate operations on 21 May 2026.

At approximately 9.00 am, officers from the Bau District Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division detained a 41-year-old man at Kampung Bukit Panchur.

A search of the suspect’s vehicle led to the discovery of a transparent plastic packet containing crystalline substances believed to be syabu.

The suspect was taken into custody under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. In a separate incident, police detained a 27-year-old man also suspected of drug abuse.

Both individuals underwent initial urine screening tests, which returned positive results for drugs. They were subsequently detained under relevant provisions of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Bau District Police Chief Pisupt Mohd Haide bin A. Rahman stated that the arrests reflect the police’s ongoing commitment to tackling drug-related offences in the district.

He emphasised that any involvement in drug abuse will be dealt with firmly under the law. The police have urged members of the public to assist in combating drug abuse by providing information.
