Sarawak Governor Joins Pilgrims for Wukuf at Arafah

ARAFAH – The Governor of Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Haji Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar, accompanied by his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah binti Mohd Sanusi, joined millions of Muslims at Padang Arafah on 26 May to observe the central rite of wukuf during the 1447H Hajj season.

The couple attended the sermon delivered by YBhg. Associate Professor Dr Jamalluddin bin Hashim, a respected Hajj Guide, who emphasised the spiritual significance of the pilgrimage.

His address highlighted the importance of deepening devotion, increasing acts of worship, and making full use of the blessings of the Day of Arafah.

Dr Jamalluddin urged pilgrims to engage in remembrance, supplication, and repentance, reminding them that Arafah represents the pinnacle of the Hajj journey.

He stressed that the day is an opportunity for Muslims to seek forgiveness and renew their spiritual commitment.

Following the sermon, the Governor, Toh Puan, and fellow worshippers performed the obligatory Zuhr and Asr prayers in congregation.

The Arafah Plain was filled with a vast assembly of pilgrims from across the globe, united in faith and devotion.
