The symbolic handover of a mock cheque amounting to RM908,170.76 was conducted between LAKMNS Honorary Secretary, Tan Sri Datuk Amar (Dr) Haji Abdul Aziz bin Dato Husain, and LAKIB Chairman, YB Encik Iskandar Bin Turkee. The ceremony took place at Level 9, Baitul Makmur in Petra Jaya.

This dividend marks the first repayment under the agreement signed between LAKMNS and LAKIB, reflecting a significant milestone in strengthening financial collaboration between the two organisations.

The funds are expected to enhance LAKIB’s financial stability, enabling the board to continue implementing community programmes and fulfilling its social responsibilities.

Deputy Premier and Deputy Chairman of LAKMNS, YB Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, was also present at the event, alongside LAKIB Deputy Chairman, Dato Haidar Khan bin Asghar Khan.

Members of the LAKMNS Board and Chief Executive Officer, Datu Haji Abdul Hadi bin Datuk Haji Abdul Kadir, attended the ceremony as well.

The dividend presentation underscores LAKMNS’s commitment to supporting Islamic welfare initiatives across Sarawak.

By strengthening financial partnerships, the organisation aims to ensure that welfare programmes remain sustainable and impactful.

Premier Abang Johari highlighted the importance of such collaborations in reinforcing the role of Islamic welfare institutions in Sarawak’s socio-economic development.

He noted that financial empowerment of organisations like LAKIB would allow them to expand their reach and provide consistent support to communities in need.

The event also demonstrated the broader vision of LAKMNS in fostering cooperation with regional welfare boards, ensuring that resources are channelled effectively to benefit the wider community.

The dividend presentation is expected to set a precedent for future collaborations, reinforcing the shared mission of promoting welfare, education, and community development.

With this financial boost, LAKIB is poised to strengthen its programmes, ranging from religious education to community support initiatives.

The dividend not only reflects sound financial management but also highlights the growing importance of partnerships in sustaining welfare organisations in Sarawak.
