Police Investigate Cable Theft Incident in Bau

BAU – Bau District Police have reported an incident of electrical cable theft that occurred on 13 June 2026 at approximately 7.30 am in the Tabai Quarry area, Jalan Bidi, Kampung Krokong.

Initial inspections revealed that two electrical extension cables, used for water pumps and benzene, were stolen. The estimated loss from the incident is around RM110.

Authorities confirmed that investigations are ongoing under Section 457 of the Penal Code, which covers offences related to housebreaking and theft.

So far, no arrests have been made, and police are continuing efforts to identify those responsible. The incident highlights ongoing concerns about cable theft, which can disrupt utility services and pose risks to both safety and community well-being.

Police have issued a reminder to the public to ensure that premises and work sites are properly monitored.

They advised residents and businesses to consider installing security systems such as CCTV to deter criminal activity.
