Police Safely Detain Man Facing Mental Health Issues in Bau

BAU, June 24 — Police in Bau acted swiftly after receiving information regarding the presence of a man believed to be experiencing mental health issues in the district, leading to his safe detention and referral for medical treatment.

The operation was carried out by Mobile Patrol Vehicle (MPV) personnel from units Bau 68 and Bau 258, with assistance from officers attached to the Crime Prevention and Community Safety Division (CPJ) of the Bau Police Station.

According to the information received, the individual was reportedly seen in the Bau area and was believed to be displaying behaviour associated with mental health problems. Concerned about the safety and welfare of the individual as well as members of the public, police immediately launched efforts to locate him.

Following a search, the officers successfully tracked down the man and managed to detain him in a controlled and safe manner. The operation was conducted professionally, ensuring that no harm came to the individual, police personnel, or members of the public.

After the situation was brought under control, police prioritised the welfare of the man by arranging for him to be transported to Hospital Bau. Medical personnel at the hospital were tasked with conducting further examinations and providing any necessary treatment and support.
