KUCHING: A tense early morning operation at the well-known Kuching Waterfront ended successfully after a large crocodile measuring around 13 feet was safely captured, preventing a potential threat to the public and visitors in the area.
The incident happened at about 4.00 AM today when the crocodile was first spotted near the waterfront. The sighting immediately raised concern among early morning workers and security personnel in the area. A report was quickly made, prompting a rapid response from a local rescue and wildlife handling team led by Eric Cat, together with members of the Kuching team.
Upon arriving at the scene, the team confirmed the presence of the large crocodile close to the riverbank area. Due to its size and proximity to public walkways, immediate action was taken to avoid any risk to nearby residents and tourists who frequently visit the popular riverside location.
The capture operation required careful coordination and patience. Team members worked closely together, using proper techniques to contain the animal without causing harm. After several attempts and sustained effort, the team successfully secured the crocodile. The animal was later controlled safely, ensuring it no longer posed a danger to the surrounding community.
