According to Padawan District Police Headquarters, the discovery was made at about 1.00pm after members of the public alerted authorities about a man lying motionless in a drain beside the road. Police personnel were quickly deployed to the scene to verify the report and carry out initial investigations.

Upon arrival, officers confirmed that the man had died at the location. A motorcycle believed to belong to the deceased was also found near the scene, raising further questions about the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police have since sent the body to the Forensic Department at Sarawak General Hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. Authorities have stated that the identity of the deceased and the cause of death will only be confirmed after the forensic report is completed.

Padawan district police chief Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi said the case is currently being investigated under a Sudden Death Report (SDR) classification. He added that investigations are ongoing and all possibilities are being examined by the police team.

Initial findings are still inconclusive, and police have urged the public not to spread unverified information or make speculation that could affect the investigation process or the feelings of the family involved.

Meanwhile, authorities have called on anyone with relevant information regarding the incident to assist the investigation by contacting the investigating officer or visiting the nearest police station. Cooperation from the public is seen as important in helping to clarify the circumstances surrounding the case.

Fire and rescue personnel were also involved in assisting at the scene earlier, ensuring the safe recovery of the body before it was handed over to the police for further action.

The case has drawn attention from the local community, especially as investigations continue to determine whether any external factors were involved. Police have assured that updates will be provided once further findings are available.

For now, the investigation remains active, with authorities awaiting post-mortem results before making any official conclusions.
