The delegation, led by District Superintendent Dev Nicholas Tan Chung Kiat, included leaders from the Western, Eastern and English Districts of SCAC as well as the Pastor on Duty of Chin Fu Methodist Church.

The meeting took place at the Sarawak Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK) in Kuching, specifically at the PJP Guest Room.

The visit was aimed at strengthening institutional ties and fostering closer cooperation between the police and the Methodist community.

Discussions centred on potential collaboration in social initiatives, public safety programmes and community engagement activities.

Delegates expressed their support for the police force, acknowledging the vital role officers play in maintaining peace and security across Sarawak.

The visit was also seen as a gesture of solidarity, offering moral encouragement to law enforcement personnel as they continue to uphold public order.

Also present during the courtesy call were Sarawak Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP Saifullizan bin Ishak; and Sarawak Special Branch Chief, SAC Mahbub Mustofa bin Norsalim.

Their attendance underscored the importance of the meeting in reinforcing institutional cooperation. The Sarawak Police Commissioner welcomed the initiative, noting that partnerships with community organisations such as SCAC are essential in building trust and enhancing collaboration.

He highlighted that joint efforts in social and safety programmes can help strengthen community resilience and ensure that Sarawak remains a safe and harmonious state.

The Methodist Churches under SCAC have long been active in community outreach, focusing on education, welfare and social support.

Their engagement with law enforcement reflects a shared commitment to promoting stability and fostering positive relations between institutions and the wider public.

The courtesy visit concluded with both parties reaffirming their dedication to continued cooperation, with future programmes expected to focus on community safety awareness and social development.
