The Bravo Squad of APM Julau received the call at 11.20 am, prompting immediate deployment to the location. Upon arrival, the team discovered the snake, measuring approximately one metre in length, inside the kitchen area. The presence of the reptile raised concerns for the safety of the household, given the venomous nature of cobras.

Using specialised equipment and adhering to standard operating procedures, the squad managed to secure the snake safely without causing harm. The cobra was later released back into its natural habitat, ensuring both public safety and the preservation of wildlife. The operation was completed smoothly, with the area declared safe before the team concluded their task.

Authorities reminded residents that venomous snakes should never be handled without professional assistance. Attempting to capture or kill such animals can lead to serious accidents. Instead, the public is urged to immediately contact the relevant agencies when encountering dangerous wildlife.

Wildlife encounters in Sarawak are not uncommon, particularly in rural and semi-rural areas where human settlements overlap with natural habitats. Experts highlight that snakes often enter homes in search of food or shelter, especially during periods of unpredictable weather. Preventive measures, such as keeping surroundings clean and sealing entry points, can help reduce the risk of such incidents.

The Julau operation reflects APM’s ongoing commitment to community safety and readiness in responding to emergencies. Their swift intervention underscores the importance of cooperation between residents and authorities in managing wildlife encounters effectively.

Community members are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any sightings of snakes or other potentially dangerous animals. The incident at Rumah Endawi serves as a reminder of the need for proactive safety measures and the vital role of emergency services in maintaining public confidence.
