The tour, organised by UMW Toyota Motor, offers a total prize pool of RM175,000 and aims to encourage more Malaysians to take up one of the country’s fastest-growing sports. The series will feature competitions, beginner-friendly clinics and open play sessions, giving participants of all skill levels an opportunity to enjoy the sport.

The first stop of the Toyota Malaysia Pickle Tour 2026 will be held at STAR Pickleball in Kuching on August 1 and 2, followed by Kota Kinabalu, Johor Bahru, George Town and Subang Jaya throughout August and September.

This year’s tour carries the theme “Solo Entry. Team Glory.”, introducing a different competition format where players register individually but are grouped into teams by the organiser. The concept is designed to encourage teamwork, friendship and community spirit while creating a fun and competitive sporting environment.

President of UMW Toyota Motor, Datuk Ravindran K., said the initiative reflects Toyota’s commitment to making sports and active lifestyles more accessible to Malaysians across the country.

He said the company’s “Mobility for All” vision is about creating opportunities that move people forward physically, socially and emotionally. By bringing the pickleball tour to both East and West Malaysia, Toyota hopes to give more Malaysians the opportunity to experience the sport while building confidence, teamwork and stronger community connections.

Pickleball has experienced rapid growth in Malaysia over the past few years, attracting participants from different age groups due to its simple rules, fast-paced gameplay and social nature. The Toyota Malaysia Pickle Tour 2026 is expected to further support the sport’s development by providing an organised platform for both experienced players and newcomers.

The tour is open to Malaysians aged seven years and above, making it a family-friendly sporting event. Besides the tournament, visitors can also take part in pickleball clinics and open play sessions, allowing beginners to learn the basics while experienced players enjoy friendly matches.

After Kuching, the tour will continue to Pickleground in Kota Kinabalu on August 15 and 16, Play! in Johor Bahru on September 5 and 6, Pickle By the Sea in George Town on September 19 and 20, before concluding at PLAYA Racquet Club in Subang Jaya on September 26 and 27.

Participants will compete for attractive cash prizes and medals at every venue. The champion at each location will receive RM10,000 and a gold medal, while the runner-up will take home RM8,000 and a silver medal. Third place winners will receive RM6,000 and a bronze medal. Cash prizes will also be awarded up to 10th place, ensuring more participants are rewarded for their performance.

Organisers expect strong participation throughout the five-stop tour as interest in pickleball continues to grow nationwide. Members of the public are encouraged to register early as places are limited at every venue.

The Toyota Malaysia Pickle Tour 2026 is expected to become one of the country’s biggest community pickleball events, bringing together players, families and sports enthusiasts while promoting healthy living and stronger community engagement across Malaysia.
