KAPIT – A total of 55 secondary school students from Kapit Division have taken part in practical training and assessment under the MyLesen B2 School (MyB2S) programme.
The training, held on 8 August 2026, marked the start of the Practical Training Phase for Parts 2 and 3 of the programme.
The sessions took place at the Ngu Chung Beng & Sons Driving Institute circuit in Kapit.
The practical component forms part of the process for participants seeking to obtain a Class B2 driving licence.
Through the training, students were introduced to practical motorcycle riding skills and the basic knowledge needed to operate a motorcycle safely while following established road regulations.
The 55 participants were selected secondary school students from various areas within Kapit Division who met the eligibility requirements for the programme.
During the training, participants underwent practical exercises and assessment conducted by examiners from the JPJ Kapit Driver Licensing Unit.
The assessment is an important stage of the licensing process, allowing participants to demonstrate the practical skills they have developed during their training.
The sessions also provided students with an opportunity to gain greater familiarity with motorcycle handling and the requirements associated with riding safely on the road.
Practical training is an essential part of learning to ride, as participants need to develop the necessary skills before progressing to subsequent stages of the Class B2 licensing process.
The MyLesen B2 School programme, also known as MyB2S, is a government initiative designed to assist eligible secondary school students in obtaining a Class B2 motorcycle driving licence.
The programme provides free Class B2 motorcycle licences to students from eligible groups, with particular attention given to those from the B40 community.
It is implemented through cooperation between the Road Transport Department (JPJ) and the Ministry of Education Malaysia (KPM).
Through this collaboration, eligible students are given access to motorcycle licensing training and the relevant assessment process without having to bear the usual costs associated with obtaining a licence.
The initiative also provides students with an opportunity to gain formal knowledge and practical experience related to motorcycle riding.
For the participants in Kapit, the latest training session represents a further step towards completing the requirements for a Class B2 driving licence.
The practical assessment conducted by JPJ examiners allows the participants’ riding skills to be evaluated as they progress through the programme.
The programme also places emphasis on safe riding practices and compliance with road regulations.
These elements are particularly important for young and new motorcycle riders, who need to understand both the practical and regulatory aspects of riding before becoming licensed motorists.
