KUCHING – Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr Haji Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar and Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Hajjah Fauziah binti Mohd Sanusi attended the wedding ceremony of Sharifah Aisyah Farhanah and Syed Muhammad Yusuf Al-Attas at Dewan Hikmah, Petra Jaya, on 9 August.
The couple’s wedding ceremony brought together members of both families and guests at the Kuching venue, with the Sarawak Governor and Toh Puan among those attending the occasion.
Upon their arrival, Tun Pehin Sri Wan Junaidi and Toh Puan Fauziah were welcomed by representatives of both families.
The bride’s parents, Tuan Haji Syed Mohamad bin Syed Alwi Al-Attas and Puan Syarifah Sri Kurniati binti Said Alwi As-Seggaff, were present to welcome the guests.
The groom’s parents, Encik Syed Abdul Rahman bin Syed Abu Bakar Al-Attas and Puan Sharifah Mariam binti Syed Hussin Al-Jufri, also welcomed the Sarawak Governor and Toh Puan to the ceremony.
Hajah Sharifah Fariah’s daughter was also present alongside Tun Pehin Sri Wan Junaidi and Toh Puan Fauziah during the event.
The ceremony began with the entrance of the bride and groom into the hall. They were then seated on a decorated throne before the programme continued with a recitation of prayers.
Tun Pehin Sri Wan Junaidi and Toh Puan Fauziah subsequently took part in a blessing ceremony for the newlyweds.
During the ceremony, they conveyed their congratulations to Sharifah Aisyah Farhanah and Syed Muhammad Yusuf and offered prayers for the couple’s happiness and wellbeing as they begin their married life together.
The blessing also reflected wishes for the couple to receive continued love and blessings throughout their journey as husband and wife.
The event continued with speeches delivered by representatives of both families.
A wedding cake cutting ceremony was also held as part of the programme, adding another traditional element to the celebration.
Guests were also treated to a qasidah performance by students from Madrasah Al-Khairat, Kuching.
The performance formed part of the proceedings and contributed to the religious and celebratory atmosphere of the wedding ceremony.
Tun Pehin Sri Wan Junaidi and Toh Puan Fauziah also expressed their hope that the newlyweds would establish a harmonious family life.
They emphasised values including love, mutual respect, loyalty and understanding as important foundations for their marriage.
Their wishes extended to the couple’s future together, including hopes that their family would remain strong and receive continued blessings.
Prayers were also offered for the couple to be granted a family filled with sakinah, mawaddah wa rahmah, reflecting wishes for tranquillity, love and mercy within their household.
The couple was also wished continued sustenance, lasting happiness and blessings throughout their married life.
The ceremony concluded with prayers that the bond formed between Sharifah Aisyah Farhanah and Syed Muhammad Yusuf would remain strong and that they would be blessed with pious and righteous children.
The wedding was held at Dewan Hikmah in Petra Jaya, Kuching, bringing together the families and guests to mark the couple’s marriage and celebrate the beginning of their life together.
