“The new terminal is designed to continue the legacy of the Pujut Bus Terminal, but with improved facilities and better connectivity for commuters and transport operators,” said Yii in a statement.

Features to Enhance Commuter Experience

The Miri Sentral Bus Terminal boasts modern amenities tailored to meet the needs of both passengers and operators. Key features include:

  • 12 ticket counters and 12 retail shop units
  • 14 bus platforms to cater for long-distance and stage buses
  • Two cafés and spacious waiting areas
  • Disability-friendly public toilets

Additionally, the terminal will accommodate various modes of transportation, including taxis and e-hailing services, offering a seamless travel experience for all.

Collective Effort for Better Connectivity

Mayor Yii highlighted the collaborative efforts between the state government, the Ministry of Transport Sarawak, and the Miri City Council in making the terminal a reality. “This terminal is a reflection of our commitment to modernise infrastructure, improve accessibility, and strengthen connectivity,” he said.

The public, stakeholders, and media are encouraged to support this new transportation hub, which promises to play a pivotal role in the development of Miri’s transportation network.
