KUCHING, January 26, 2025 – A wave of kindness and hope swept through Kuching as the Lions Club of Kuching Unity, in collaboration with the Sarawak Blood Bank and PPIS, hosted a successful Blood Donation Drive and Organ Pledge Campaign at Proton Supernau Motors 4S (Batu 4, Penrissen Road).
This impactful event, themed “Warriors in Red”, achieved an impressive 60 pints of blood donated, with only five deferred cases. The drive united donors from diverse backgrounds, all committed to making a difference in the lives of those in need.
The Lions Club of Kuching Unity’s President, Manjeet Sidhu, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the community for their overwhelming support. “Your blood can give someone a second chance at life. Donate now and be a hero,” said Manjeet, emphasizing the life-saving importance of blood donation.
Empowering Lives Through Organ Pledges
In addition to blood donations, the event also featured an organ pledge campaign, in partnership with the Sarawak General Hospital. This initiative encouraged attendees to make the courageous commitment of pledging their organs to save lives in the future. Many participants stepped forward, inspired by the noble cause of giving others a second chance at life.
The event also highlighted the efforts of the Leos of St Teresa, who assisted in the campaign while learning about the profound impact of blood donation and organ pledging.
