The programme was designed to raise awareness among students about the dangers of drug abuse, vaping, and illicit substances from an early age. Through interactive lectures, participants were introduced to the types of drugs commonly abused, their harmful effects on individuals, families, and society, and the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle free from negative influences.

AADK officers also organised an exhibition that provided students and school staff with access to educational materials, brochures, and information sessions. The exhibition allowed participants to engage directly with officers, ask questions, and gain deeper insights into the risks associated with drug abuse.

The initiative reflects AADK’s ongoing commitment to strengthening prevention efforts through early education. By targeting school communities, the agency aims to nurture a generation that is knowledgeable, resilient, and free from the threat of drugs.

Officials emphasised that awareness campaigns in schools are crucial in building strong foundations for young people. Early exposure to anti-drug education helps instil discipline, responsibility, and the ability to make informed choices, ensuring that students are better equipped to resist peer pressure and negative influences.

The Anti-Drug Week at SK Pasir Tengah also highlighted the role of schools in complementing national prevention strategies. Teachers and administrators were encouraged to continue reinforcing positive values and healthy habits among students, ensuring that anti-drug messages remain consistent and impactful.

AADK Kuching expressed appreciation to SK Pasir Tengah for inviting the agency to participate in the programme. The collaboration demonstrates the importance of partnerships between schools and government agencies in tackling social challenges and safeguarding the future of Sarawak’s youth.

The event concluded with a call for continued cooperation between communities, schools, and enforcement agencies to strengthen resilience against drug abuse. AADK reaffirmed its commitment to expanding similar initiatives across Sarawak, ensuring that awareness and prevention remain central to its mission.
