KUCHING – The Sarawak branch of the National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) held its Monthly Assembly, Customer Engagement Day, and Engagement Session with the State Director on 13 April 2026, reinforcing its commitment to integrity, governance, and the vision of a drug-free Malaysia.
The event served as a platform to strengthen organisational governance, enhance two-way communication, and improve service delivery to stakeholders.
Key points highlighted during the session included cost-saving measures through prudent resource management, strict compliance with KPIs, and the importance of discipline and integrity among employees.
The agency also emphasised structured implementation of Working From Home (BDR) practices to maintain productivity and accountability.
AADK presented its Strategic Plan, which is built on six main thrusts covering prevention, treatment, recovery, and enforcement.
In prevention, the agency is focusing on targeted audience segmentation using social media, Anti-Drug Ambassadors, Junior Squad, MySKUAD, Drug-Free Aspiration Village (KABD), People Empowerment Movement (GEGAR), and the Drug-Free Aspiration Tour (JABD). These initiatives aim to deliver anti-drug messages more effectively to different segments of society.
The Drug-Free Workplace Programme (TEKAD) was also highlighted, with a target of expanding implementation to at least 50 public and private organisations by 2026.
This initiative, aligned with the ARPA framework, seeks to strengthen workplace policies, safety, and integrity, contributing to sustainable national productivity.
From the perspective of treatment and recovery, AADK continues to encourage voluntary client admissions.
This effort is supported by amendments to the Dangerous Drugs Act 1983, which now allow individuals to access treatment without prior approval from a medical officer.
On enforcement, AADK has established the LMAF Task Force to coordinate integrated actions against drug abuse.
This task force is expected to deliver more comprehensive, effective, and high-impact strategies in tackling drug-related issues.
Overall, the event reflected AADK’s determination to uphold integrity, strengthen organisational culture, and realise the aspiration of a drug-free Malaysia.
By combining prevention, treatment, recovery, and enforcement, the agency aims to build a safer and healthier society.
