KUCHING, 7 Nov 2025 — Police have arrested three individuals, including a local woman, in connection with a paint spilling case believed to be linked to illegal moneylending, commonly known as Ah-Long activities, in the Kuching district.
According to the Kuching District Police, the suspects — two men and one woman — were apprehended on 6 November 2025 by the Commercial Crime Investigation Division (CCID) of the Kuching District Police Headquarters (IPD Kuching). The arrests followed investigations into a paint spilling incident that occurred at a residential house in the Kuching area, causing an estimated loss of RM1,000 to the homeowner.
The case, which drew public attention due to its suspected link with Ah-Long intimidation tactics, led to the swift arrest of the suspects within 24 hours of the report being lodged.
On 7 November 2025, all three suspects were brought before the Kuching Magistrate’s Court, where they were charged under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief, read together with Section 34 for acts done by several persons in furtherance of a common intention.
The court heard that the suspects had intentionally caused damage to the victim’s property by splashing paint as a form of threat or harassment. All three pleaded guilty and were sentenced to a fine of not less than RM5,000 each, or in default, 10 months’ imprisonment.
Kuching District Police Chief urged the public to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious or criminal activities immediately. He reminded citizens that community cooperation is crucial in fighting crime, especially illegal moneylending cases which often lead to acts of intimidation and property damage.
