KUCHING — Artificial Intelligence (AI), Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), and renewable energy are the three fundamental pillars steering the world towards sustainable growth, said Sarawak Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development, Dato Sri Roland Sagah Wee Inn.
Speaking at the 8th International Conference on Technology and Innovation (TECHON) 2025 on Wednesday, he highlighted that these sectors are not isolated but rather interlinked strategies essential for building a resilient and forward-looking future.
“AI provides intelligence to analyse, predict and optimise. TVET provides the skills to act, build and implement. Renewable energy ensures sustainability, helping to protect and preserve our environment,” he explained.
Roland Sagah underscored that the global landscape is evolving rapidly, driven by climate crises, digital disruption, and shifting job markets, necessitating a unified strategy across disciplines.
He emphasised that AI, TVET and renewable energy collectively form a “strong combination” that could lead nations into a more inclusive, innovative and sustainable era.
TECHON 2025, he added, serves as a vital platform for stakeholders to share research, challenge traditional perspectives, and foster collaborations across borders, sectors and academic institutions.
“Let us use this platform to ask critical questions, challenge conventional thinking and build bridges across disciplines. Let us inspire each other to lead with clear purpose and contribute to the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),” he urged.
Also present at the conference was Tellian assemblyman Royston Valentine.
