SPAOH – The Betong District Civil Defence Force (APM) held a ceremony on Friday to present aid from the Heroes and National Defence Trust Fund (TAPPN) to the family of the late Pbt. (PA) Firdaous bin Suhaini, recognising his service and sacrifice to the nation.
The event was officiated by YAS Pj. (PA) Ghazali Bin Abd Rahman, Deputy Chief Commissioner (Operations) of the Malaysian Civil Defence Force. He was accompanied by Maj. (PA) Zulfaituri bin Ramlee, Assistant Director of the Sarawak State Civil Defence Force, along with officers from IPPA and APM Sarawak.
The donation was personally handed to the deceased’s wife, symbolising APM’s commitment to supporting the welfare of families of its members. Officials emphasised that the contribution reflects the department’s appreciation for the dedication and sacrifices made by personnel in safeguarding the country.
The ceremony highlighted the importance of recognising fallen members and ensuring their families are not left behind. According to APM representatives, the assistance is intended to ease the burden faced by the family while serving as a reminder that the contributions of Civil Defence personnel are always valued and remembered.
Community leaders present at the event expressed their support, noting that such initiatives strengthen trust between the Civil Defence Force and the public. The TAPPN fund, established to honour national heroes, continues to play a vital role in providing financial relief to families of those who have served.
The ceremony concluded with prayers for the late Pbt. (PA) Firdaous bin Suhaini, with attendees offering condolences and reaffirming their respect for his service. The gesture underscored the enduring principle that the sacrifices of national defence members remain etched in collective memory.
