Acting swiftly, four members of the Charlie Squad, led by Corporal (PA) Mohd Arif Bin Midun, travelled 16 kilometres to the location and arrived at 8.25pm.

Upon inspection, the team discovered a wasp nest about the size of a palm embedded in the wooden ceiling of the complainant’s bedroom.

Given the potential danger to the occupants, the squad employed insecticide spraying to eliminate the nest. The operation was completed safely by 9.24pm, with no injuries reported.

Wasp nests inside homes pose serious risks, particularly when located in sleeping areas. Stings can cause severe pain and, in some cases, allergic reactions.

The swift intervention by APM Limbang prevented possible harm to the residents and demonstrated the importance of trained emergency personnel in handling such threats.

Across Sarawak, APM units have been actively responding to similar cases, ranging from pest control to road accidents and disaster management. Their readiness ensures that communities in both urban and rural areas receive timely support.

The Limbang squad’s actions reflect the broader mission of the Civil Defence Force to safeguard public safety and maintain order.

Authorities continue to advise residents not to attempt removing insect nests themselves, as improper handling can provoke aggressive behaviour from the insects. Instead, the public is urged to contact APM for professional assistance.
