APM Lubok Antu Safely Captures 2-Metre Gold Ring Snake

BATANG AI – Members of the Sarawak Civil Defence Force (APM) Lubok Antu successfully captured a 2-metre long gold ring snake at the Batang Ai Power Station on 24 February 2026.

The operation was launched after the Sarikei District Operations Control Centre received a call from the public reporting the presence of the reptile. A team of three MyAspa-O Delta members was immediately dispatched to the site.

Upon arrival, the officers located the snake and carried out the capture using specialised equipment, including tongs and nets. The procedure was completed safely, ensuring no harm to the complainant, the public, or the animal itself.

The incident highlights the readiness of APM Lubok Antu in responding to wildlife emergencies, particularly in populated or sensitive areas such as power stations. Their swift action helped restore safety and calm to the location.
