LUBOK ANTU – The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) Lubok Antu District responded to an emergency call on 21 June 2026 after a python was discovered inside a chicken coop in Kampung San Panjai.
The incident was reported at 10.37 am, prompting the mobilisation of the MyASPA-O Alpha team. Three members arrived at the location in under ten minutes, demonstrating the unit’s readiness and efficiency in handling wildlife-related emergencies.
Upon inspection, officers confirmed the presence of a batik python measuring approximately two metres. The reptile had entered the complainant’s chicken cage, raising immediate concerns for the safety of the family and their livestock.
Using specialised equipment, the team carried out a controlled operation to capture the snake. The python was secured without causing harm to the animal, residents, or property.
It was then placed in a designated containment box for further action, ensuring that the situation was resolved safely.
APM Lubok Antu emphasised the importance of contacting emergency services when faced with potentially dangerous wildlife.
Officials reminded the public not to attempt handling snakes themselves, as improper action could lead to serious injury. Instead, residents are urged to rely on trained personnel equipped to manage such risks.
The Civil Defence Force reiterated its commitment to community safety under its guiding motto, “Together to Protect – Ready to Help”.
