MARUDI – The Marudi District Operation Control Centre (PKOD) responded swiftly to an emergency call reporting a snake sighting at No. 134C, JKR Barracks, Marudi.
The incident, categorised as a Snake Catching Case (KMU), was handled by Bravo Squad of the APM Marudi branch on 22 April 2026.
Led by Lance Corporal (PA) Kamil Bin Tahir, the team of three personnel travelled approximately five kilometres to reach the location.
Upon arrival, they met the complainant, who was unharmed, and confirmed that the snake had been spotted at the kitchen window of the residence.
Bravo Squad immediately carried out the operation using snake tongs, a standard technique for safe handling.
The team successfully captured a leaf snake measuring around 1.3 metres in length. Following the completion of the task, the squad returned to PKOD Marudi without further incident.
The operation highlights the readiness and efficiency of APM Marudi in responding to wildlife-related emergencies.
By ensuring the safe removal of the snake, the team not only protected the residents but also demonstrated the importance of quick, coordinated action in maintaining public safety.
