MATU – The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) Matu District conducted a successful operation on Friday, 3 April 2026, to remove wasp nests at SMK Matu following an emergency alert.
The intervention was prompted by a report to the District Operations Control Centre (PKOD), which highlighted the presence of wasp nests in two separate locations beneath the school’s roof.
Upon receiving the call, APM Matu personnel swiftly mobilised to the scene. School staff guided the team to the exact spots where the nests were located.
Equipped with protective gear and specialised tools, the officers prepared to neutralise the threat posed by the wasps, which can be aggressive and dangerous when disturbed.
The operation involved the use of Ridsect insecticide, a standard and effective method for eliminating wasp nests.
The APM Matu team applied the treatment carefully, ensuring that both nests were fully eradicated. After completing the procedure, the area was thoroughly inspected and declared safe for students and staff to return.
