MATU – The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) in the Matu District successfully handled a wasp nest removal case on Saturday, 2 May 2026, after receiving an emergency call from the public.
The Matu District Operations Control Centre (PKOD) was alerted to the presence of a large wasp nest, roughly the size of a futsal ball, located under the roof of a house in Kampung Tian.
Concerned about the safety of residents, APM members were immediately dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, the complainant guided officers to the location of the nest.
The team prepared appropriate equipment before commencing the destruction operation. Using insecticide spray (Ridsect), the nest was neutralised effectively, ensuring the area was safe for the household and surrounding community.
Authorities confirmed that the operation was completed without incident, highlighting the importance of professional intervention in cases involving aggressive insects.
Officials reminded residents not to attempt removing wasp nests themselves, as improper handling could lead to serious injuries.
APM Matu expressed gratitude to the public for promptly reporting the case and reiterated its commitment to community safety under the motto “APM Mukah, Nang Steady”.
The organisation continues to encourage vigilance and cooperation in reporting emergencies. For urgent cases, residents can contact APM Matu PKOD at 084-832-208 or dial 999 for immediate assistance.
