On 28 April 2026, search teams located the body within a one-kilometre radius of the PKTK command post. The remains were subsequently transported to Miri Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Authorities confirmed that the search operation, which had been ongoing since the initial report, was officially terminated following the discovery.

The situation was declared safe and under control, with teams returning to the District Operations Control Centre (PKOD) in Miri.

The Civil Defence Force expressed appreciation for the cooperation of all involved in the operation, noting that such missions highlight the importance of community vigilance and rapid reporting in missing person cases.

APM Miri reiterated its commitment to readiness and swift response under its motto: “Always creative, work and perform all the time. APM Miri, Nang Steady. There is a disaster; call APM.”

This case underscores the challenges faced in search and rescue operations, particularly in plantation areas where terrain and vegetation can complicate efforts.

Authorities continue to encourage the public to report emergencies promptly to ensure effective intervention.
