MUKAH – The Civil Defence Force (APM) Mukah responded to an emergency call on Thursday, 7 May 2026, after receiving reports of an adult male suffering from serious health complications.
According to information provided by the public, the man was found in his room experiencing gout, partial paralysis on one side of his body, and weakness in his limbs. These symptoms required immediate medical attention.
APM Mukah members arrived promptly and carefully transferred the victim onto an ambulance trolley stretcher.
He was then taken to Mukah Hospital for further treatment, where medical staff are expected to continue monitoring his condition.
Health experts note that gout, a form of arthritis, can cause severe pain and swelling, while paralysis and limb weakness may indicate underlying neurological or vascular issues.
Such combined symptoms can be particularly dangerous if not treated quickly, making rapid intervention essential.
Community leaders have praised APM Mukah for their swift and professional response, highlighting the importance of emergency services in safeguarding public health.
Their readiness to act in urgent situations reassures residents that help is available when needed most.
APM Mukah continues to remind the public of their 24-hour emergency hotline, 084-872814, which can be contacted for immediate assistance.
The organisation also shares updates and awareness campaigns through its official TikTok account, encouraging residents to stay informed about safety measures and emergency preparedness.
The slogans “Nang Steady” and “There’s a Disaster, Call APM” reflect the organisation’s commitment to reliable service and community protection.
This latest case underscores the importance of cooperation between residents and emergency responders in ensuring swift action during health-related incidents.
As Sarawak’s communities face growing health and safety challenges, the role of APM remains vital in providing reassurance and practical support during emergencies.
The incident in Mukah serves as a reminder of the need for vigilance and preparedness, especially for vulnerable individuals.
