MUKAH – The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) Mukah District successfully captured a 1-metre cane snake during an emergency operation on 28 March 2026, following a public report to the Mukah District Operations Control Centre (PKOD).
The snake was discovered by the side of a house, prompting immediate concern from residents. APM personnel were dispatched to the location and carried out the capture using the pincer technique, ensuring the safety of both the public and the officers involved.
The operation was completed smoothly, with no untoward incidents reported. APM confirmed that the situation was under control and the snake was safely removed from the residential area.
Authorities expressed gratitude to the public for promptly contacting APM, stressing that community cooperation is vital in managing encounters with wildlife.
Residents were reminded to remain vigilant and to report sightings of dangerous animals immediately to prevent potential harm.
APM Mukah reiterated its readiness to respond to emergencies at any time, reinforcing its motto: “APM Mukah, Nang Steady.” The agency also reminded residents: “There is a disaster, call APM.”
