MUKAH – The Sarawak Civil Defence Force (APM) Mukah successfully captured a 35 cm rat cobra found inside a kitchen on 23 February 2026, following an emergency call from the public.
The incident was reported to the PKOD Mukah operations centre, prompting a team to be dispatched to the location.
Upon arrival, officers identified the snake and carried out the capture using the pincer technique, ensuring the safety of the premises and its occupants.
The operation was completed without incident, and the situation was declared under control. No injuries were reported, and the snake was safely removed from the area.
APM Mukah expressed gratitude to the public for promptly contacting the authorities, stressing that community vigilance is vital in preventing risks associated with wildlife encounters.
The agency reminded residents to immediately report similar cases to ensure professional handling and avoid unnecessary danger.
