MUKAH – The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) Mukah District successfully captured a 2-metre ring-necked snake during an emergency operation at Durin Bazaar on 28 March 2026.
The Mukah District Operations Control Centre (PKOD) received a call from a member of the public reporting the presence of the snake on a mango tree. Concerned for safety, the caller alerted APM, which immediately dispatched a task force to the scene.
APM personnel employed the pincer technique to secure the reptile, ensuring the safety of both residents and officers. The operation was carried out smoothly, with no untoward incidents reported.
In a statement, APM confirmed that the situation was under control and the snake was successfully removed from the residential area.
The capture highlights the readiness of APM Mukah to respond to wildlife emergencies and protect communities from potential danger.
Authorities expressed gratitude to the public for promptly reporting the case, noting that community cooperation is vital in managing encounters with wild animals.
Residents were reminded to remain vigilant and to contact APM immediately if they encounter dangerous wildlife near their homes.
