APM Sarikei Safely Handles Snake Capture Operation

SARIKEI – The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) Sarikei District successfully carried out a snake catching operation at No.23, Lorong 1F, Taman Susur Jambu on the evening of 30 March 2026.

The Sarikei District Operations Control Centre (PKOD) received an emergency call at 6.21pm from a resident, Nur Nabila, who reported the presence of a snake inside her home. Concerned for her family’s safety, she immediately contacted APM Sarikei for assistance.

Within minutes, the Alpha Squad, consisting of four personnel, was dispatched to the location. The team arrived at the scene in approximately eight minutes and quickly began the operation.

Using specialised equipment, they managed to capture a lizard snake measuring about one foot in length.

The operation was completed safely without any untoward incidents. The team returned to the Sarikei PKOD at 6.52pm after ensuring the area was secure.

APM Sarikei reminded the public to remain vigilant and to contact the authorities immediately if faced with emergency situations involving poisonous or dangerous animals.

Such swift reporting allows trained personnel to respond effectively, reducing risks to residents and preventing potential harm.
