Electrical Cable Fire Contained by BBP at Kampung Jemukan Laut

ASAJAYA – A fire incident caused by a suspected short circuit was reported at Kampung Jemukan Laut on 26 April 2026, prompting a swift response from the local fire and rescue team.

The incident occurred when an electrical cable on the roof of a house caught fire. The Asajaya Fire and Rescue Department (BBP Asajaya) was dispatched to the scene, led by Operations Commander PBKII (TBBK I) Duet bin Marzuki. Upon arrival, officers found that the blaze was limited to the electrical wiring above the property.

The Sesco team was already present at the location and immediately worked to disconnect the electricity supply to prevent further escalation.

With the power source cut off, the fire was quickly brought under control, and no additional firefighting action was required.

The operation involved LFRT BJU 5996 with a manpower strength of one officer and four personnel. Police officers from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) also assisted, with two members present at the site to support the operation and ensure public safety.

Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported, and the situation was contained without damage spreading to other parts of the property. After ensuring the area was safe, the fire department returned to the station.

Local officials reminded residents of the importance of electrical safety, particularly in rural areas where wiring systems may be exposed to weather conditions.

Short circuits remain one of the most common causes of household fires, and preventive measures such as regular inspections and maintenance are strongly encouraged.
