Azizul Annuar Inspects Completed Projects and Ongoing Upgrades in Lundu

LUNDU – Several newly completed development projects in Lundu were officially handed over this week during a working visit by Tanjong Datu Assemblyman Azizul Annuar Adenan, who reviewed progress on both finished and ongoing infrastructure upgrades across the district.

The visit, coordinated by the Lundu District Council (MDL), also saw the participation of MDL Secretary Norashikin Brahim and Lundu District Officer Awang Yusup Awang Mostapha.

Among the completed facilities is Lundu Food Court Building 2, constructed by Crest Realty Sdn. Bhd. under the People’s Project. The new venue features eight food and beverage stalls alongside a spacious lobby designed to host community events and social programmes.

Another key project finalised is the Lundu Sports Complex upgrading works by MSD Enterprise Sdn. Bhd., which included repairs to the running track, football field, spectator stand, and badminton courts. The standout feature is a new blue running track, the first of its kind in Sarawak, which positions the complex to host both state and national-level sporting events.

The Futsal Court Roof Reconstruction Project II, carried out under the Rural Transformation Project (RTP) by Tarigas Construction, was also completed. The initiative delivered a new roof and upgraded fencing, ensuring greater comfort and safety for users.

Meanwhile, the Titi Kayu Road Upgrading Project is improving connectivity across six villages — Kampung Sekambal Melayu, Kampung Stunggang Melayu Baru, Kampung Stunggang Melayu Lama, Kampung Trusan Jaya, Kampung Sileng Dayak and the Sungai Lundu area. Wooden footbridges in the stretch have been replaced with reinforced concrete structures, providing residents with safer and more durable access routes.

Azizul Annuar also reviewed the ongoing Sekambal Village Hall upgrading works, which are expected to enhance facilities for community programmes once completed.

“These projects reflect the government’s commitment, together with implementing agencies, to enhance infrastructure and deliver comfortable facilities for the people in the Tanjong Datu area,” Azizul Annuar said during the visit.
