LUNDU – Rural development in Tanjong Datu continues to gain momentum with the successful completion of four key infrastructure projects and the ongoing implementation of three more initiatives aimed at enhancing the wellbeing of residents.

Tanjong Datu Assemblyman, Azizul Annuar Adenan, officially handed over the completed projects to the respective Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) during a handover ceremony on Wednesday.

The completed projects include:

  • Construction of a new bridge in Kampung Pulo Ayer Melayu
  • Upgrading of Lorong Belungei Besar 2 in Kampung Belungei
  • Construction of a new multipurpose hall in Kampung Perigi
  • Upgrading works in Kampung Sebat Dayak

In addition, three more infrastructure projects are currently under development:

  • Kuala Bandang Road Upgrade Project
  • Road Upgrade Project in Kampung Telok Melano
  • New multipurpose hall in Kampung Sebat Baru

Azizul also inspected the progress of the Al-Sultan Abdullah Mosque in Telok Melano, which is anticipated to become a landmark for the Muslim community in the area.

“Our development focus is comprehensive and inclusive. We do not concentrate on just one area — every project, whether a bridge, road, or hall, plays a critical role in improving the community’s quality of life,” he said.

More than 60 residents and officials from related government agencies attended the site visits and handover ceremony.

Also present were Lundu District Assistant Officer Anwar Fakhriyuddin Matamit, Sematan Sub-District Officer Mohd Ameerullah Roslan, and assistant Jumahdi Sabian.
