KOTA SAMARAHAN – The Batang Samarahan Hawker Centre underwent a major integrated cleaning operation today, aimed at improving hygiene standards and ensuring a safer environment for both traders and visitors.
The initiative, organised by the Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS), focused on creating a more conducive dining space by tackling sanitation issues that affect food safety.

Contractors carried out extensive washing works across the concourse and business premises. High-pressure water jets were deployed to remove stubborn dirt, grease, and oil residues that had built up over time.
Each stall lot was thoroughly cleaned and reorganised to maintain order and improve the overall appearance of the centre.
The Samarahan Divisional Police were present throughout the exercise to oversee safety and ensure smooth coordination. Their involvement helped maintain order while the cleaning teams worked across the busy trading area.
Local authorities emphasised that the operation was not a one-off measure but part of a broader commitment to maintaining cleanliness in public spaces.
