BAU – Police in Bau District carried out an integrated crime prevention operation on 25 April 2026, reinforcing their commitment to public safety and crime deterrence.
The initiative was conducted in several strategic areas, including town centres, residential neighbourhoods, and routes identified as high-risk.
The operation involved roadblocks along Jalan Singai, routine patrols, and inspections of vehicles and individuals.
Officers also monitored security conditions in Bau Town and surrounding areas to ensure a visible police presence.
Authorities emphasised that such measures are designed to reassure the public and deter criminal activity.
During the exercise, police inspected 75 vehicles and checked 90 individuals. As part of enforcement, three summonses were issued under the Road Transport Act.
These actions highlight the dual focus of the operation: preventing crime while ensuring compliance with traffic and safety regulations.
Local police explained that the operation is part of a wider strategy to maintain law and order across the district.
By combining patrols, checkpoints, and inspections, the initiative aims to reduce opportunities for crime and strengthen community confidence in law enforcement.
The Bau District Police Headquarters noted that the operation will continue periodically, with adjustments made according to crime trends and public feedback.
Authorities stressed that maintaining a consistent presence is crucial in deterring offences and ensuring residents feel secure in their daily lives.
Community cooperation remains a key element of the strategy. Police have encouraged residents to report suspicious activities and to engage with officers during patrols.
This collaboration, they said, enhances the effectiveness of crime prevention and builds stronger ties between law enforcement and the public.
The Integrated Crime Prevention Operation reflects the Royal Malaysia Police’s broader commitment to proactive policing.
By targeting areas of concern and maintaining visibility, officers aim to prevent incidents before they occur.
The Bau District Police reiterated their pledge to uphold safety and order, stating, “Your safety, our responsibility.”
