The incident was reported at 10.07 pm by a local resident, Mr Henry, who contacted the Bau Fire and Rescue Station directly.

Firefighters from BBP Bau were immediately mobilised, with personnel dispatched in two vehicles – an Artego fire engine and an Isuzu Dmax equipped with extinguishing gear.

Due to the narrow access road leading to the site, the Artego machine could not reach the location. Firefighters instead used the Isuzu Dmax to transport equipment and personnel closer to the scene.

Upon arrival at 10.30 pm, officers confirmed that the farmhouse belonging to Lingam Anak Nyoted was already engulfed in flames.

Operations commenced at 10.31 pm, with crews deploying a 300-foot hose connected to a pump nozzle, drawing water from a nearby river.

The fire was brought under control within minutes, and by 10.40 pm the situation was stabilised. Full extinguishing operations continued until 11.58 pm, after which the team returned to the station.

The blaze resulted in the total destruction of the farmhouse, though no injuries or casualties were reported.

The operation involved eight personnel under the supervision of PBK I Rodziah Binti Berawi, supported by drivers and crew members from both vehicles. No other agencies were involved in the response.

Authorities confirmed that the fire was confined to the single farmhouse, with no immediate risk to neighbouring properties due to the distance between structures. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

The Bau Fire and Rescue Department emphasised the importance of community vigilance and quick reporting of fire incidents, noting that the rapid response helped prevent the blaze from spreading further.
