BAU – Police in Bau have arrested four individuals, including three men and one woman, during an operation targeting suspected drug abuse on 22 April 2026.
The arrests were made at around 8.20 pm in front of a house along Jalan Sebuku. Officers from the Narcotic Criminal Investigation Division, supported by Bau District Police Headquarters, carried out the operation following intelligence reports.
Initial urine screening tests revealed that three of the suspects, aged between 26 and 47, tested positive for drugs.
They were detained under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. The fourth suspect, a female, tested negative during the screening.
Bau District Police Chief, P/Supt Mohd Haide bin A. Rahman, confirmed the arrests and stressed that the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) will continue to take firm action against drug-related offences.
He reminded the public that involvement in drug abuse will not be tolerated and urged residents to assist enforcement efforts by reporting suspicious activities.

Police emphasised that community cooperation is vital in tackling the spread of drug abuse and ensuring the safety of residents.
Authorities have highlighted that drug abuse remains a pressing issue in Sarawak, with enforcement operations continuing across districts to identify offenders and dismantle networks.
The latest arrests in Bau reflect ongoing efforts to combat the problem and safeguard communities from the harmful impact of narcotics.
