Police Detained Man in Bau for Suspected Drug Abuse

BAU – A man in his forties has been taken into custody by police in Bau following suspicions of drug abuse.

The arrest was carried out by officers from the Narcotic Crime Investigation Division, supported by members of the Bau District Police Headquarters, during an operation on 12 May at approximately 5.00 pm.

Authorities confirmed that the suspect, aged 44, was subjected to an initial urine screening which tested positive for drugs.

He has since been detained under provisions of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, a law that has long been used to combat drug-related offences across Malaysia.
