BAU – Police in Bau detained two men and a woman during an operation targeting suspected drug abuse at several locations in the district on 21 September 2026.
The three suspects, aged between 30 and 50, were detained between approximately 9am and 10.30am at Lorong 8, Lorong 2 Jalan Sebuku and Kampung Melayu Siniawan.
The operation was carried out by personnel from the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division (JSJN), together with officers from the Bau District Police Headquarters.
According to the Bau District Police Chief, preliminary urine screening tests conducted on all three suspects returned positive results for drugs.
The suspects were subsequently detained under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 as investigations into the suspected drug-related offences continue.
Police did not disclose the identities of the three individuals or provide details on the type or quantity of drugs allegedly involved.
The arrests form part of enforcement efforts by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) against drug-related activities and substance abuse. Police said action would be taken against individuals involved in drug abuse in accordance with the relevant laws.
The Bau District Police Headquarters reminded members of the public that information concerning suspected drug-related activities can be channelled to the appropriate authorities.

The locations involved in the operation included areas around Jalan Sebuku and Kampung Melayu Siniawan, where police personnel carried out the arrests during the morning operation.

Under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, suspected drug offences are subject to investigation and legal proceedings based on the evidence gathered by enforcement authorities.
