BINTULU – A focus of the coordination meeting was held at Wisma Bintulu on 10 February 2026 in relation to the approaching Aidilfitri Host Ceremony with YAB Premier Sarawak. Officials from government agencies, industry partners, hospitality merchants, retailers and community organisations came together at Room 316 for the session to be familiarised with plans towards making the event a successful one.
The meeting, which was presided over by the Bintulu Division authorities, stressed coordinating duties and establishing a more cohesive working relationship among all parties. Agendas focused on operations planning, logistics and security arrangements, community support and ensuring a well-executed celebration.
Government bodies such as the Bintulu Resident’s Office and District Office, along with Bintulu Port Holdings Bhd and Bintulu Port Authority, had a leading role in establishing administrative services and infrastructure support. Their participation helps make sure that the event proceeds smoothly and without any problem.
The presence of such main players from the oil & gas and industrial sectors with companies like Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd, MLNG, Shell MDS Sdn Bhd, and Press Metal Bintulu Sdn Bhd was amongst them. Their inputs are expected to bring logistical support, community participation and other forms of support. Commercial partnership with local industries is very crucial for regional events.
Contractors and suppliers, such as CelcomDigi Berhad, BGC Construction Sdn Bhd and Sunmow Construction Sdn Bhd, participated in the dialogues on infrastructure and technical needs. Travel and tour agencies, including Andalusia Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd, also offered support in the process of travel arrangements for visitors.
Leading hotels in Bintulu, such as Parkcity Everly Hotel, Fairfield Marriott Paragon Bintulu, and Imperial Hotel Bintulu, were present from the hospitality sector. They will have a vital part as hosts and in the running of a warm, welcoming, festive gathering.
The participating retail outlets and shopping complexes included Farley Supermarket, The Spring Mall Bintulu, Emart Bintulu and Sing Kwong Supermarket, an effort that demonstrated the role of commercial involvement in big neighbourhood events.
Also showing their full support were community institutions such as the Aq-Taqwa Mosque Entertainment Bureau Bintulu, the Sarawak Women’s Association (WI), the Bintulu Single Mother Vision Cooperative and local villages, namely Jabai and Assyakirin, to ensure inclusivity and grassroots participation.
The meeting ended with the unanimous commitment from all parties involved to cooperate towards the success of the Aidilfitri Host Ceremony. “This event is not just a celebration but more of an exhibition pertaining to unity, the development aspirations and the commitment to community well-being amongst Bintulu folks.”
