BINTULU – The Bintulu Car Free Morning (BCFM) returned to Tanjung Batu Beach this April, drawing enthusiastic participation from residents eager to embrace a healthier lifestyle in a vehicle-free environment.
Organised by the Bintulu Development Authority (BDA), the event encouraged people of all ages to take part in activities such as jogging, cycling, plogging, and group workouts.
The initiative created a lively and relaxed atmosphere, allowing participants to exercise together while enjoying a cleaner and safer recreational space.
The programme highlighted the importance of promoting wellness and environmental sustainability. By temporarily closing roads to vehicles, organisers provided a safe space for families, youth, and senior citizens to engage in physical activities without traffic concerns.
The event also underscored the value of community togetherness, with cheerful faces and positive energy filling the beachside venue.
Participants expressed appreciation for the opportunity to sweat it out in a refreshing, car-free setting. Many noted that the initiative not only supports fitness but also contributes to environmental awareness by encouraging greener practices such as plogging, which combines jogging with litter collection.
BDA officials emphasised that the Car Free Morning is part of a broader effort to promote healthy living and community engagement in Bintulu.
The programme has become a recurring highlight, fostering civic pride and reinforcing the town’s commitment to sustainability.
The April 2026 edition of BCFM concluded successfully, with organisers thanking the public for their strong support.
The turnout demonstrated the community’s willingness to embrace active lifestyles and contribute to a cleaner environment.
Authorities confirmed that similar events will continue to be held, with hopes of expanding participation and strengthening Bintulu’s reputation as a city that values health, unity, and ecological balance.
