Wildlife experts note that cobras, though often small when first encountered, are venomous and can pose serious risks if disturbed.

Their presence in residential areas is usually linked to nearby vegetation or food sources, such as rodents. Authorities have urged residents to remain cautious and avoid attempting to handle snakes themselves.

This case adds to a growing number of wildlife-related incidents across Sarawak, where snakes and other animals have increasingly entered populated areas.

Environmental changes and habitat disturbances are believed to be contributing factors, pushing wildlife closer to human settlements.

APM Mukah expressed appreciation to the public for promptly reporting the case. Officials stressed that community cooperation is vital in ensuring rapid response and preventing accidents.

The agency continues to emphasise its message: “There’s a Disaster, Call APM,” underscoring the importance of immediate reporting in protecting lives and property.
