DARO – The 2025 district-level Maulidur Rasul celebration in Daro drew strong participation from across the community, showcasing a vibrant display of unity and reverence.
A total of 23 contingents, representing government departments, schools, village committees (JKKK), and local NGOs, took part in the 2.5-kilometre procession organized by the Daro District Islamic Celebration Committee.
Held to honor the birth of Prophet Muhammad SAW, the event featured banners and chants of praise, reflecting the deep spiritual connection of the Muslim community.
The procession was part of a nationwide observance of Maulidur Rasul, which this year carried the theme “Membangun Ummah Madani” (Developing a Civilized Ummah)2.
During the opening ceremony, Daro State Assemblyman Safiee Ahmad addressed attendees, urging Muslims to strengthen their faith by following the teachings of the Quran and the Sunnah.
“The strength of Muslims lies in our adherence to the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet, which promises a developed and prosperous ummah,” he said.
He also encouraged the public to embody the Prophet’s noble character in daily life to preserve social harmony.
In a show of support, the Daro Malay Welfare Trust (LAKMD) contributed RM10,000 to the event, matched by an equal donation from Safiee himself.
These contributions helped facilitate the celebration and underscored the collective commitment to religious and community values.
The event not only celebrated Islamic heritage, but also reinforced bonds among residents, highlighting the role of faith in fostering cooperation and mutual respect.
Similar processions and religious gatherings were held nationwide, including in Serdang and Kuching, where thousands participated in state and national-level commemorations.
