RM300,000 RTP Project Completed at Darul Barakah Mosque for Community Benefit

RM300,000 RTP Project Completed at Darul Barakah Mosque for Community Benefit

KUCHING – The people of Taman Satria Jaya BDC can now look forward to better facilities after the successful completion of a RM300,000 Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) project in front of Darul Barakah Mosque.

The project, which was carried out under the allocation of N12 Kota Sentosa representative YB Wilfred Yap, was inspected in its final stage together with officers from the Kuching South City Council (MBKS).

The scope of works included upgrading the drainage system, repairing pedestrian walkways, and improving parking facilities. These improvements were made to ensure the comfort and safety of both residents and mosque worshippers, particularly during Friday prayers and festive seasons when traffic and pedestrian flow are high.

YB Wilfred Yap said the project reflects the GPS government’s commitment to fulfilling promises and ensuring that small but impactful initiatives are implemented effectively for the benefit of the people.

“This RTP project worth RM300,000 is proof that the government prioritises the welfare of the rakyat, especially at the grassroots level. We want to make sure that the community enjoys safer surroundings, better accessibility, and improved public facilities,” he said after the inspection.

He also expressed his gratitude to all parties involved, including MBKS and the mosque committee, for their cooperation in ensuring the smooth completion of the project.

Residents in the area welcomed the improvements, noting that the upgraded drainage will reduce the risk of flash floods while the repaired walkways and enhanced parking will make daily activities more convenient.

The RTP, introduced by the Sarawak government, continues to be a key mechanism in bringing direct development to local communities through projects that address immediate needs.

With the completion of this project, the residents of Taman Satria Jaya BDC and the worshippers of Darul Barakah Mosque are set to benefit from safer and more comfortable facilities.
