Focusing on Sarawak’s Energy & Utility Development

Dato Ibrahim highlighted that he still needs to gain a clearer understanding of his jurisdiction to avoid any overlap with Minister for Utility and Telecommunication, Dato Sri Julaihi Narawi, who oversees Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) and Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (PETROS).

However, he shared that his main focus will be on assisting in the coordination of Sarawak’s oil and gas sector, particularly PETROS, in alignment with the Sarawak Gas Roadmap.

“The Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg, has mentioned the task of helping to coordinate the oil and gas sector, especially PETROS, based on the Sarawak Gas Roadmap,” he explained.

Dato Ibrahim also emphasized the importance of renewable energy, stating that Sarawak aims to lead the Borneo Grid and establish itself as a major player in the regional energy sector.

Commitment to Sarawak’s Future

Grateful for this opportunity, Dato Ibrahim expressed his dedication to teamwork and collaboration with cabinet ministers to achieve Sarawak’s long-term energy and utility goals.

His leadership is expected to strengthen Sarawak’s energy sustainability efforts and contribute to the state’s ongoing development. – UKAS
